7 September: The Duke of York, Patron, this evening attended a Dinner for Aycliffe, Centre for Children, at the County Hall, Durham, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Durham (Mr David Grant).

Captain Rupert Maitland- Titterton was in attendance.

7 September: The Princess Royal this afternoon visited the National Birds of Prey Centre at Newent to open the new Barn and Education Centre and was received by Lieutenant-Colonel RA Coxwell- Rogers (Deputy Lieutenant of Gloucestershire).

KENSINGTON PALACE

7 September: The Prince of Wales this morning attended a Conference of the Prince's Trusts at the Penns Hall Hotel, Sutton Coldfield.

Mr Hugh Merrill was in attendance.

His Royal Highness this evening gave a Reception for the Pentland South Pole Expedition at Kensington Palace.

7 September: Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, Deputy Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Anglian Regiment, today received Lieutenant-Colonel Alan Deed on relinquishing the appointment of Commanding Officer of the 2nd Battalion and Lieutenant- Colonel John McColl on assuming the appointment.

The Princess of Wales visits the London Connection project for young homeless people, London WC2; and as Patron, British Youth Opera, attends a performance of Carmen at Sadler's Wells Theatre, London EC1. Prince Michael of Kent visits Farnborough International '92; and attends a luncheon as guest of the Society of British Aerospace Companies, Farnborough, Hampshire. Princess Michael of Kent, as Guest of Honour, attends the Scottish Borders Promotion to be held at Simpson (Piccadilly) Ltd, London W1.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts The Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards mounts The Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Irish Guards.
