BUCKINGHAM PALACE

16 March: The Prince Edward today visited Hertfordshire and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Hertfordshire (Mr Simon Bowes Lyon).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield Campus, College Lane, Hatfield.

The Prince Edward later launched the Hertfordshire Association for Young People, British Aerospace, Stevenage, where he was received by the Chairman of the Association (Mr Teddy Faure Walker).

Lieutenant-Colonel Sean O'Dwyer was in attendance.

His Royal Highness, Chairman, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Special Projects Group, this evening held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

17 March: General Brent Scowcroft (former National Security Adviser to The President of the United States of America) had the honour of being received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of an Honarary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

Miss Karen Scowcroft was also received by The Queen.

17 March: The Princess Royal, President, Royal Yachting Association, this afternoon attended the Commodores' Reception and Annual General Meeting, the Inn on the Park Hotel, Hamilton Place, Park Lane, London W1.

CLARENCE HOUSE

17 March: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother this morning presented Shamrock to the Irish Guards at the Guards Depot, Pirbright.

The Lady Angela Oswald, Major Sir Ralph Anstruther Bt and Captain the Hon Edward Dawson-Damer were in attendance.

ST JAMES'S PALACE

15 March: The Prince of Wales this afternoon departed from Royal Air Force Northolt for a visit to the Republics of Croatia and Bosnia.

His Royal Highness this evening met a contingent from HMS Ark Royal's Shore Support Team and subsequently attended a dinner with members of the Ship's Company in HMS Ark Royal (Captain Jeremy Blackham).

Commander Robert Fraser RN was in attendance.

16 March: The Prince of Wales, Colonel in Chief, the Cheshire Regiment, today visited members of the Regiment, 845 Naval Air Squadron, volunteers from the Overseas Development Agency and other Army, Navy and Air Force personnel in the Republics of Croatia and Bosnia.

His Royal Highness this evening arrived at Royal Air Force Northolt from the Republics of Croatia and Bosnia.

Commander Robert Fraser RN was in attendance.

17 March: The Prince of Wales this afternoon attended a Lecture at The Prince of Wales's Institute of Architecture, Gloucester Gate, London NW1.

KENSINGTON PALACE

17 March: The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, was present today at the Barbican Hall at the Annual Council Meeting of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

The Hon Mrs Whitehead was in attendance.

17 March: Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, this morning presented the London in Bloom Certificates of Excellence 1992 for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets at the Globe Town Neighbourhood Centre, 62 Roman Road, London E2.

Mrs Michael Harvey was in attendance.

YORK HOUSE

17 March: The Duke of Kent this morning visited the Ironbridge Gorge Museum, Ironbridge, Shropshire and was met on arrival by Her Majesty's Lord- Lieutenant for Shropshire (Mr John Dugdale).

His Royal Highness later opened an extension to the Nuffield Hospital, Shrewsbury.

Captain the Honourable Tom Coke was in attendance.

The Duchess of Kent this morning visited the Walsingham Community Home, Turnbull Close, Dartford and was met on arrival by Brigadier Maurice Atherton (the Deputy Lieutenant of Kent). Her Royal Highness later visited Family Matters office at the Council for Voluntary Services, Manor Road, Gravesend.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Friends of Rochester Cathedral, today visited Rochester Cathedral, Rochester.

The Duchess of Kent this afternoon officially launched the Kent Rural Initiative launch reception at Godmersham Park, Kent.

Mrs Julian Tomkins was in attendance.

Princess Margaret attends a Reception given by the United Kingdom Central Council for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting, London W1. The Duchess of Gloucester visits the Sandcastle Nursery, Sands Middle School, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire; and later opens Brendoncare Foundation's new home 'Chiltern View', Stone, Near Aylesbury. The Duke of Kent, Grand Master, attends a meeting of the Officers of the Order of Saint Michael and Saint George at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, London SW1. The Duchess of Kent attends a Fund-Raising Concert in aid of the late Lord Cheshire's World Memorial Fund for Disaster Relief at Westminster Cathedral, London SW1. Prince Michael of Kent, Honorary President of the Royal Automobile Club Motor Sports Association, attends the Annual Dinner at the Royal Automobile Club, London SW1.
