PALACE OF HOLYROODHOUSE

29 June: The Queen held an Investiture at the Palace of Holyroodhouse this morning.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening were entertained at Dinner by The Royal Company of Archers at Archer's Hall, Edinburgh.

The Countess of Airlie, the Right Hon Sir Robert Fellowes and Lieutenant-Colonel Malcolm Ross were in attendance.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron and Trustee, today attended Receptions at the Palace of Holyroodhouse for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

By command of The Queen, Mr Simon Bowes Lyon (Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Hertfordshire) was present at Hatfield Airport, Hertfordshire, this afternoon upon the Arrival of The President of the Republic of Mozambique and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of Her Majesty.

BUCKINGHAM PALACE

29 June: The Princess Royal, Patron, the British Nutrition foundation, this morning attended the 1993 Annual Conference 'The Scientific Achievements of McCance and Widdowson' at the Royal College of Physicians, St Andrew's Place, Regent's Park, London NW1.

Her Royal Highness, President, Missions to Seamen, afterwards attended the Annual Service at St Michael Paternoster Royal, College Hill, London EC4, and was received by the Right Hon the Lord Mayor (Sir Francis McWilliams).

Mrs William Nunneley was in attendance.

The Princess Royal, President Elect, this afternoon left Heathrow Airport, London, for Ottawa, Canada, to attend the International Council Meeting of the Chartered Institute of Transport.

CLARENCE HOUSE

June 29: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, Colonel-in-Chief, The Queen's Own Hussars, was present this evening at a Reception given by the Regiment at St James's Palace.

The Lady Angela Oswald, Sir Alastair Aird and Captain the Hon Edward Dawson-Damer were in attendance.

ST JAMES'S PALACE

29 June: The Prince of Wales today visited Northumberland and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant (the Viscount Ridley KG).

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince's Trust, this morning met a North East Business Support Group of The Prince's Trust volunteers.

The Prince of Wales afterwards visited Kielder Forest.

Commander Richard Aylard RN was in attendance.

KENSINGTON PALACE

29 June: The Princess of Wales, Patron, Chicken Shed Theatre Company, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London W1.

Captain Edward Musto RM was in attendance.

Her Royal Highness, Patorn, the Trust for Sick Children in Wales, this evening attended the Gala Opening Night of the Kirov Ballet Performance of Romeo and Juliet at the London Coliseum, London WC2.

Viscountess Campden and Mr Patrick Jephson were in attendance.

29 June: The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, Master of the Bench, this afternoon opened a Flower Festival in the Chapel at Lincoln's Inn, held in aid of the Cancer Relief Macmillan Fund and legal charities.

The Lady Elizabeth Cavendish was in attendance.

29 June: The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Medical Women's Federation, this morning opened the Medical Women's International Association, Northern European Regional Congress at the Metropole Hotel, Brighton and was received on arrival by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for East Sussex (Admiral Sir Lindsay Bryson)

In the afternoon, Her Royal Highness visited St Peter and St James's Hospice, Wivelsfield Green, East Sussex. Later The Duchess of Gloucester opened Adur Community Swimmming Pool, Fingston Broadway, Shoreham-by-Sea, and was received on arrival by Major-General Sir Philip Ward (Vice Lord-Lieutenant for West Sussex).

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Coldstream Guards.
