BUCKINGHAM PALACE

22 June: His Excellency Mr Vincas Balickas and Mrs Balickas were received in farewell audience by The Queen and took leave upon his Excellency relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the Republic of Lithuania to the Court of St James's.

Air Commodore the Hon Timothy Elworthy was received by Her Majesty and delivered up the Insignia of the Order of the Garter worn by his father, the later Marshal of the Royal Air Force the Lord Elworthy.

His Excellency Mr Jesus Tambunting was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the Republic of the Philippines to the Court of St James's.

His Excellency was accompanied by the following members of the Embassy:

Mr Aladin Villacorte (Minister Counsellor), Mr Ernesto Castro (First Secretary and Consul), Mrs Yolanda Serrano (Second Secretary and Consul), Colonel Cesar Garcia (Military Attache), Mr Peregrino Sales (Commercial Attache), Mr Eduardo Jarque (Tourism Attache), Mr Conrado Paule (Attache) and Mrs Thelma Buenaventura (Attache).

Mrs Tambunting was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Anthony Figgis (Assistant Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present and the Household in Waiting were in attendance.

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, received Major-General Alastair Dennis upon relinquishing his appointment as Colonel, 16th/5th The Queen's Royal Lancers, on amalgamation and upon assuming the appointment of Colonel, The Queen's Royal Lancers.

Colonel Sean Longsdon, Colonel, 17th/21st Lancers, and Lieutenant-Colonel Peter Campbell, Commanding Officer, 16th/5th The Queen's Royal Lancers, were received by Her Majesty upon relinquishing their appointments and Lieutenant Colonel Robert McKenzie Johnston upon assuming the appointment of Commanding Officer, The Queen's Royal Lancers.

Sir Christopher Mallaby (Her Majesty's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary at Paris) was received by The Queen.

Lady Mallaby was also received by Her Majesty.

Mrs Sackler, the Sackler Foundation, and Mr David Cregeen were received by The Queen and presented to Her Majesty a copy of a bronze by Mr Cregeen which had been commissioned by the Sackler Foundation for the Commonwealth Secretariat.

The Queen, Patron, this afternoon attended a Garden Party at Syon House to mark the Seventieth Anniversary of the Cancer Research Campaign and was received by the Duke of Northumberland, the Duke of Gloucester (President) and the Lady Elizabeth Cavendish (Chairman).

The Hon Mary Morrison, Sir Kenneth Scott and Major James Patrick were in attendance.

22 June: The Princess Royal today visited Glasgow and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for the City of Glasgow (Mr Robert Innes, the Right Hon the Lord Provost).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Rosebowl Environmental Project for Schools 1993, this morning presented the Awards to Schools at City Chambers.

The Princess Royal later opened St Mungo Museum and Glasgow Cathedral Visitor and Conference Centre.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the National Autistic Society, this afternoon visited the Strathclyde Autistic Group, the Moat House International Hotel.

Mrs Charles Ritchie was in attendance.

22 June: The Lady Angela Oswald has succeeded the Lady Margaret Colville as Lady-in-Waiting to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

ST JAMES'S PALACE

22 June: The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall, today visited Duchy property and attended a Luncheon for tenants in the Isles of Scilly.

Sir David Landale was in attendance.

KENSINGTON PALACE

22 June: The Princess of Wales, Patron, Institute for the Study of Drug Dependence (ISDD), this afternoon attended the ISDD Media Awards Luncheon at the Cafe Royal, 68 Regent Street, London W1.

Mr Patrick Jephson was in attendance.

22 June: The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Papworth and Enham Foundation, this morning visited the Enham Trust to mark the Trust's 75th Anniversary and opened the recreation and leisure centre, Enham Alamein, Andover.

Her Royal Highness was received on arrival by Major-General JA Ward- Booth (Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire).

Mrs Howard Page was in attendance.

The Duke of Gloucester, President, Cancer Research Campaign accompanied by The Duchess of Gloucester, this afternoon received The Queen at a Garden Party to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Campaign at Syon House, Syon Park, Brentford, Middlesex.

Mrs Michael Wigley and Major Nicholas Barne were in attendance.
