30 July: The Queen today visited Hertfordshire and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant (Mr Simon Bowes Lyon).
Her Majesty this morning visited Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Howlands, Welwyn Garden City.
The Queen toured the hospital, escorted by the Chairman, East Hertfordshire Trust (Mrs Lesley White), and afterwards named the new Day Room centre and unveiled a commemorative plaque.
Her Majesty later visited Rothamsted Experimental Station, Harpenden, and was received by the Chairman, Lawes Agricultural Trust Company (Professor Sir Richard Southwood), the Chairman, Rothamsted Experimental Station (Sir Ralph Riley), the Vice-President, Royal Agricultural Society of England (the Duke of Wellington), the Mayor of St Albans City and District Council (Councillor Mrs Sheila Burton) and the Mayor of Harpenden (Councillor David Britten).
The Queen unveiled commemorative plaques and afterwards toured the centre, escorted by Professor Trevor Lewis (Director of Research).
Her Majesty subsequently honoured the Chairman with her presence at Luncheon at Rothamsted Manor.
The Queen this afternoon opened Tabor Court at Valley Road Development, Letchworth, and was received by the Chairman, Letchworth Garden City Corporation (Mr Eric Lyall), and the Managing Director, Avebury Projects Limited (Mr Peter Muir).
After touring the development, Her Majesty unveiled a commemorative plaque at Tabor Court.
The Lady Susan Hussey, the Right Hon Sir Robert Fellowes and Major James Patrick were in attendance.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, today visited the Hurlingham Club, London SW6.
Wing Commander Christopher Moran RAF was in attendance.
30 July: The Duke of York, Patron, this evening took the Salute at a performance of the Royal Tournament, Earl's Court, London SW5.
Major Joyce Gillison was in attendance.
30 July: The Prince Edward today gave a Luncheon in support of the visit of the Calgary Round-Up Band and the Calgary Stampede Show Band at Buckingham Palace.
30 July: The Princess Royal, President, Royal Yachting Association, this afternoon attended the RYA/Eric Twiname National Youth Matchracing Championships, Queen Mary Sailing Club, Ashford Road, Ashford, Middlesex.
ST JAMES'S PALACE
30 July: The Prince of Wales today visited Cardiff and ws received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for South Glamorgan (Captain Norman Lloyd- Edwards RNR).
His Royal Highness this morning opened the new British Airways subsidiary company, British Airways Maintenance Cardiff, at Cardiff- Wales Airport.
The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community and The Prince's Trust, this afternoon attended a meeting with Training Enterprise Council Chairmen and business leaders from Wales.
Mr Hugh Merrill was in attendance.
His Royal Highness later received the Right Hon John Gummer MP (Secretary of State for the Environment).
KENSINGTON PALACE
30 July: The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon this afternoon visited Cleveland and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Cleveland (The Lord Gisborough).
Her Royal Highness, President, The Girl Guides Association, visited the Cleveland County International Camp at Wynyard Park, Wolviston, Stockton-on-Tees.
The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, Grand President (St John Ambulance), later opened St John House, the St John Ambulance County Headquarters in Marton Road, Middlesborough.
The Hon Mrs Wills was in attendance.
