15 July: His Excellency Monsieur N'Tji Laico Traore was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the Republic of Mali to the Court of St James's.
Sir David Gillmore (Permanent Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present and the Household in Waiting were in attendance.
Her Majesty received His Excellency Chief Emeka Anyaoku, the Commonwealth Secretary General.
Sir Michael Alexander, Sir Alan Munro and Sir Ramsay Melhuish were received by The Queen upon their retirement from the Diplomatic Service.
Lady Alexander, Lady Munro and Lady Melhuish were also received by Her Majesty.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the Garden of Buckingham Palace.
The Princess and Wales and The Duke and Duchess of Kent were present.
Her Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms and The Queen's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.
The Band of the Grenadier Guards and the Staff Band of the Adjutant General's Corps played selections of music during the afternoon.
The Queen was represented by Mr Timothy Colman (Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk) at the Funeral of Ruth, Lady Fermoy (Woman of the Bedchamber to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother) which was held in St Margaret's Church, King's Lynn, Norfolk, today.
The Duke of Edinburgh was represented by Major Thomas Harvey.
The Prince Edward was represented by the Lady Angela Oswald.
The Princess Royal was represented by Mrs Timothy Holderness-Roddam.
Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were represented by Major Nicholas Barne.
The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represented by Mr Anthony Duckworth-Chad.
Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy, was represented by the Lady Mary Colman.
15 July: The Prince Edward this evening attended a Reception to mark the opening of 'Harambee '93' International Youth Conference at St Mary's College, Strawberry Hill, Twickenham, Middlesex.
Mrs Richard Warburton was in attendance.

15 July: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother was present at the Funeral of Ruth, Lady Fermoy which took place in St Margaret's Church, King's Lynn, today.
Her Majesty unveiled a Memorial to the Old Contemptibles in Westminster Abbey this afternoon.
Miss Jane Walker-Okeover, Major Raymond Seymour and Captain the Hon Edward Dawson-Damer were in attendance.

15 July: The Prince and Princess of Wales were present at the Funeral of Ruth, Lady Fermoy, which took place in St Margaret's Church, King's Lynn, Norfolk, today.

15 July: The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon was represented by Lady Aird at the Funeral of Ruth, Lady Fermoy, Woman of the Bedchamber to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, which was held in St Margaret's Church, King's Lynn today.
15 July: The Princess of Wales, Patron, the Natural History Museum and Turning Point, this evening attended the Film Premiere of Jurassic Park at the Empire, Leicester Square, London WC2.
Miss Alexandra Loyd and Captain Edward Musto RM were in attendance.
YORK HOUSE
15 July: The Duke of Kent, President, this afternoon attended a lecture at the Royal United Services Institute for Defence Studies, Whitehall, London SW1.
Commander Roger Walker RN was in attendance.
THATCHED HOUSE LODGE
15 July: Princess Alexandra, Vice President, this afternoon visited the British Red Cross Northumbria Branch Headquarters at Croft House, Western Avenue, Newcastle upon Tyne, and was received by Colonel John Dowdeswell (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear).
Her Royal Highness subsequently opened Wansbeck General Hospital, Ashington, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Northumberland (the Viscount Ridley KG).
Princess Alexandra, accompanied by the Hon Sir Angus Ogilvy, later opened the refurbished Sheraton Grand Hotel, Edinburgh, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for the City of Edinburgh (Mr Norman Irons, the Right Hon the Lord Provost).
Mrs Peter Afia was in attendance.
ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh visit East Kent. Princess Margaret visits Northumberland for the Presentation of the World Heritage Award to the Roman Wall at Cawfields. Prince Michael of Kent, President of the Institute of the Motor Industry, visits the Honda Plant in Swindon, Wiltshire.
Changing of the Guard
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Irish Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Scots Guards.
