21 January: By command of The Queen, Vice-Admiral Sir James Weatherall (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Abdulrahman Al-Wohaibi at 42 Park Street, London W1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the State of Qatar to the Court of St James's.

21 January: The Duke of York, Patron, this morning visited the Yellow Brick Road Appeal, Newcastle University Medical School, Newcastle, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Tyne and Wear (Colonel Sr Ralph Carr-Ellison).
His Royal Highness, Patron of Children - North East, afterwards visited the Battle Hill Family Centre.
The Duke of York later met families involved in the 'Rural Action with Families in Tyneside' project and, as Patron, members and staff of the Newcastle Weston Spirit Centre.
His Royal Highness subsequently toured the Electronic Bi-Media News Room and the Television Studio.
The Duke of York this afternoon visited Parsons (Rolls-Royce Industrial Power Group), Heaton.
Captain Neil Blair RN and Captain Rupert Maitland-Titterton were in attendance.
21 January: The Princess Royal, Patron, National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, this morning opened the new bureau, 21A East Street, Havant, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Hampshire (Lieutenant-Colonel Sir James Scott Bt).
Her Royal Highness, President, Save the Children Fund, later visited the fund's shop, 4 The Marsh, Hythe.
The Princess Royal, Patron, National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, this afternoon opened the new bureau, 17 Quay Street, Newport, and was received by the Governor and Her Majesty's Lord- Lieutenant for the Isle of Wight (the Lord Mottistone).
Her Royal Highness, President, Save the Children Fund, subsequently visited the fund's shop, 1 St Thomas Square, Ryde.
The Hon Mrs Legge-Bourke was in attendance.
The Princess Royal, Master, the Worshipful Company of Loriners, this evening attended the Installation of the New Master, Guildhall, London EC2, and was received by the Right Hon the Lord Mayor of London (Sir Francis McWilliams).
