17 December: The Duke of York, Colonel-in-Chief, today visited the 9th Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment in Northern Ireland.

20 December: Professor Sir Norman Blacklock was received by The Queen upon his retirement as Medical Officer to Her Majesty abroad.
By command of The Queen, Sir Ashley Ponsonby Bt (Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Oxfordshire) was present at Royal Air Force Brize Norton today upon the Departure of the King and Queen of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and bade farewell to Their Majesties on behalf of Her Majesty.

20 December: The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince's Youth Business Trust, this morning attended a trade fair of north London businesses supported by the trust and opened Pentland Group's new conference centre at the Pentland Centre, Squires Lane, Finchley, London N3.
Mr Matthew Butler was in attendance.

Changing of the Guard
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Scots Guards.
Windsor Castle
The Precincts at Windsor Castle open between 10am and 4pm, and the State Apartments between 10.30am and 3pm.
