THATCHED HOUSE LODGE

24 August: Princess Alexandra this evening attended a Gala Performance of Ariadne auf Naxos in aid of the Broomhill Trust at David Salomons House, Southborough, Tunbridge Wells, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Kent (the Lord Kingsdown).

The Lady Nicholas Gordon Lennox was in attendance.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Princess Royal, Visitor to Strathcarron Hospice, opens the new ward block at Randolph Hill, Denny, Stirlingshire; as President, Save the Children Fund, visits the Save the Children Shop, Perth; visits Dunblane Cathedral, Perthshire; and opens the Perth Royal Infirmary Development, Perthshire.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion The King's Regiment mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the King's Regiment.
