HM YACHT BRITANNIA

5 August: The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of York, this afternoon visited Southampton and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Hampshire (Lieutenant- Colonel Sir James Scott Bt) and the Mayor of Southampton (Councillor John Martin).

Her Majesty, Patron, British Sailors' Society, with The Duke of York, attended a Recording of a Special Songs of Praise programme to mark the One Hundred and Seventy Fifth Anniversary of the society and was received by the Chairman (Captain Andrew Tyrel RN) and the Principal Chaplain (the Reverend James MacDonald).

The Hon Mary Morrison, Mr Robin Janvrin and Major James Patrick were in attendance.

The Queen and the Duke of York afterwards embarked in HMY Britannia and, escorted by HMS York (Captain Paul Stone RN), sailed for Scotland.

KENSINGTON PALACE

5 August: The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, Patron, the National Pony Society, today visited the Society's Centenary Show at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern.

Her Royal Highness was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Hereford and Worcester (Mr Thomas Dunne).

Lady Aird was in attendance.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am.

Bands playing in the Royal Parks

St James's Park, Ladies' Palm Court Orchestra, 12.30pm-2pm, 5.30pm-7pm; Regent's Park, Welwyn Garden City Band, 12.30pm-2pm, 5.30pm- 7.30pm.
