Her Majesty and The Duke of Edinburgh gave a Dinner Party at which Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and The Duke of York were present.

14 April: The Princess Royal, Patron, Geographical Association's Centenary Celebrations 1993, this morning opened the Centenary Annual Conference, Sheffield University, Sheffield, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for South Yorkshire (Lieutenant-Colonel Hugh Neill).
Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Home Farm Trust, this afternoon visited the Fairthorn Scheme, 239-241 Cemetery Road, Sheffield.

14 April: The Duke of Kent this morning opened a new factory at Lucas EUI Systems, Brunel Way, Stonehouse, and was met on arrival by Her Majesty's Lord- Lieutenant for Gloucestershire (Mr Henry Elwes).
His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the South East Cotswolds Education Business Partnership at Brann Direct Marketing Limited, Phoenix Way, Cirencester, and opened extensions to the Gloucestershire Old People's Housing Society, Watermoor House, Watermoor Road, Cirencester, Gloucestershire.
Captain the Honourable Tom Coke was in attendance.

14 April: Princess Alexandra this afternoon visited Dumfries and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Dumfries and Galloway (Captain Ronald Cunningham-Jardine)
Her Royal Highness opened Nithsdale Mills Sheltered Housing for Loreburn Housing Association at St Michael's Street, Dumfries. Subsequently Princess Alexandra attended a Ceremony to mark the incorporation of Dumfries and Galloway College of Technology at Heathhall, Dumfries.
The Lady Mary Mumford was in attendance.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, attends the Centenary Reception of the Windsor and Eton Football Club at the Princess Margaret Royal Free School. The Princess of Wales visits the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London WC2; and later attends the film premiere of Accidental Hero in aid of Mencap and as Patron, Relate, at the Odeon West End, London WC2. Prince Edward, President, attends the National Youth Music Theatre's performance of The Ragged Child at the Triplex Theatre, New York. The Princess Royal attends the Men's Over-All Finals of the 1993 World Gymnastics Championships at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham. The Duchess of Kent, Patron, the Yorkshire County Cricket Club, attends a pre-season Lunch at Leeds United Football Club, Leeds, and opens the new Day Surgery and Treatment Unit, York District Hospital, York. Princess Alexandra attends a performance by the Medici String Quartet in aid of the Kingston Hospital Scanner Appeal at Stationers' Hall, London EC4.
Changing of the Guard
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Coldstream Guards.
