BUCKINGHAM PALACE

6 April: The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, this afternoon opened the renovated premises of Windsor Methodist Church and was received by the Lord-Lieutenant for the Royal County of Berkshire (Mr John Henderson) and the Minister (the Reverend James Booth).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness attended a Service of Dedication and afterwards toured the redeveloped premises.

The Queen later unveiled a commemorative plaque.

Lady Abel Smith, Mr Robin Janvrin and Major James Patrick were in attendance.

By command of The Queen the Viscount Long (Lord-in-Waiting) was present at Heathrow Airport, London, this evening upon the Arrival of The King and Queen of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and welcomed Their Majesties on behalf of Her Majesty.

6 April: The Duke of York this evening attended the Young Electronic Designer Awards Ceremony, the Science Museum, South Kensington, London SW7.

Captain Rupert Maitland-Titterton was in attendance.

6 April: The Princess Royal this morning attended the National Federation of Women's Institutes and National Farmers' Union Conference on 'Caring in the Countryside', the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Gloucestershire (Mr Henry Elwes).

Her Royal Highness, Chancellor, University of London, accompanied by Commander Timothy Laurence RN, this evening attended the Conference Dinner, King's College London, Strand, London WC2.

6 April: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother this morning named an InterCity Class 90 Locomotive The Girls' Brigade at Euston Station to mark the Centenary of the Girls' Brigade of which Her Majesty is Patron.

Dame Frances Campbell-Preston and Sir Alastair Aird were in attendance.

Ruth, Lady Fermoy has succeeded Dame Frances Campbell-Preston as Lady-in-Waiting to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

6 April: The Prince of Wales today gave a Luncheon to discuss forestry matters.

6 April: The Princess of Wales today attended the Health of the Nation Conference on mental health, the West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds, and was received by Mr David Fearnley (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire).

Mr Patrick Jephson was in attendance.

6 April: The Duke of Kent, Colonel, the Scots Guards and Patron ALP 4000, this afternoon met members of the Scots Guards ALP 4000 Climbing Team at the Foundation of the Study of Infant Deaths, 35 Belgrave Square, London SW1.

The Duchess of Kent this morning took the Lord High Admiral's Divisions at Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Devon.
