8 September: By command of The Queen, Vice-Admiral Sir James Weatherall (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Boris Pankin at 13 Kensington Palace Gardens, London W8, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the Russian Federation to the Court of St James's.

8 September: The Princess of Wales, Patron, Relate, this morning received Mr David French (Director).
8 September: The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron-in-Chief, Plan International UK, this evening viewed an exhibition - African Children, Art of Dreams and attended a reception at the Barbican Centre, London EC2.
Mrs Howard Page was in attendance.
Buckingham Palace
The State Apartments at Buckingham Palace open between 9.30am and 4.30pm. The Queen's Gallery opens between 10am and 5pm, and last admission is at 4.30pm.
Changing of the Guard
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion King's Regiment mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Scots Guards.
