ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Duke of Edinburgh attends a service followed by a reception in St Paul's Cathedral, London EC4, at which an Honorary Doctorate will be conferred on the Patriarch of Constantinople by City University. The Queen Mother visits the League of Remembrance, London WC1, to mark its 80th Anniversary; and attends a Service in St Martin-in-the-Fields, London WC2, to mark the participation of South African Servicemen in the Normandy invasion. Princess Margaret opens the Uckfield Community Hospital, Uckfield, East Sussex. The Duke of Gloucester, President, NABC - Clubs for Young People, presents the Awards at the finish of the 100-mile Canoe Test at Worcester Race Course. The Duke of Kent opens the Suffolk Probation Service Headquarters, Foundation House, Ipswich; and as President, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, attends a Lifeboat Naming Ceremony, Aldeburgh, Suffolk. Prince Michael of Kent, Provincial Grand Master, presides over the 1994 meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Middlesex, at the Conference Centre, Wembley.

Buckingham Palace

The Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace opens 10am-5pm, last admission 4.30pm. The Royal Mews opens 12pm-4pm, last admission 3.30pm.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Welsh Guards.
