7 May: By command of The Queen, the Viscount Goschen (Lord-in- Waiting) called upon the Governor- General of Belize and Lady Young this morning at the Goring Hotel, London SW1, and, on behalf of Her Majesty, welcomed Their Excellencies on their Arrival in this

Country.

7 May: The Prince Edward, Chairman, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Special Projects Group, this morning visited Ynys Huwel Countryside Centre, Cwmfelinfach, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Gwent (Mr Richard Hanbury-Tenison).

His Royal Highness afterwards visited the Newbridge Leisure Centre, Newbridge.

The Prince Edward this afternoon attended the Pilkington Cup Final at Twickenham, Middlesex.

Lieutenant-Colonel Sean O'Dwyer was in attendance.

8 May: The Duke of Edinburgh left Heathrow Airport this evening for the Republic of South Africa.

Brigadier Miles Hunt-Davis was in attendance.

By command of The Queen, Mrs Lilian Phillips (Deputy Lieutenant of West Sussex) was present at Gatwick Airport, London, this morning upon the Arrival of the Governor-General of Barbardos and welcomed Her Excellency on behalf of Her Majesty.

ST JAMES'S PALACE

7 May: The Prince of Wales this afternoon attended the SWALEC Cup Final at Cardiff Arms Park and was received by the Right Hon Sir Tasker Watkins (Deputy Lieutenant of South Glamorgan).

YORK HOUSE

8 May: The Duke of Kent, Patron, the Combined Cavalry Old Comrades, this morning took the Salute at a Combined Cavalry Memorial Parade at Hyde Park, London W2 and this afternoon attended a lunch at the Savoy Hotel, London WC2.

Captain Alexander Tetley was in attendance.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Duke of Edinburgh visits South Africa to represent the Queen at the Inauguration of the President of South Africa. Princess Margaret, President, Friends of the Elderly and Gentlefolk's Help, attends a Private View of an Exhibition of the work of Barry Swaebe at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London W1. Princess Alexandra, accompanied by Sir Angus Ogilvy, visits Denmark.

The Queen's Gallery

The Queen's Gallery opens between 10am and 5pm, and last admission is at 4.30pm.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 7 Company Coldstream Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Scots Guards.

Windsor Castle

The Precincts and State Apartments at Windsor Castle open between 10am and 6pm.
