29 June: The Queen held an Investiture at the Palace of Holyroodhouse this morning.
Her Majesty afterwards received the Keeper of the Great Seal of Scotland (Mr James Barron) and Mr Alan Ramage (Deputy Keeper), who were introduced into The Queen's presence by the Secretary of State for Scotland (the Right Hon Ian Lang MP), to mark the Nine-Hundredth Anniversary of the Great Seal of Scotland.
Captain David Younger was also received by The Queen who handed to him his Commission as Her Majesty's Lord- Lieutenant for Tweeddale.
The Queen, Patron, National Canine Defence League, this afternoon opened new kennels at Benty Head, West Calder, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord- Lieutenant for West Lothian (the Earl of Morton), Colonel RoosmaleCocq (Vice- President) and Mr Kenneth Evans (Chairman).
Her Majesty toured the kennels, escorted by Mrs Clarissa Baldwin (Chief Executive Officer), and unveiled a commemorative plaque.
The Queen, Patron, National Society for Epilepsy, later visited the training centre of the Epilepsy Association of Scotland, Bloom House, Livingston, and was received by the National Director (Mr John Craig).
After touring the centre, escorted by Mrs Jane Aitken (Director, Livingston District Epilepsy Group), Her Majesty unveiled a commemorative plaque.
The Hon Mary Morrison, the Right Hon Ian Lang MP (Secretary of State for Scotland), Mr Robin Janvrin and Major James Patrick were in attendance.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave a Dinner Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

His Royal Highness, Patron and Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award this afternoon attended a Luncheon for Scottish Charter Members at the offices of the Scottish Widows Fund and Life Assurance Society, Dalkeith Road, Edinburgh.

29 June: The Princess Royal, Master, the Worshipful Company of Woolmen, this morning visited the Textile Conservation Centre at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey.
Her Royal Highness, Patron, Townswomen's Guilds, this afternoon attended the National Council Meeting at the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gore, London SW7.

29 June: The Prince of Wales, Lord of the Isles, today visited Islay and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Argyll and Bute (Colonel Archibald Fletcher).
His Royal Highness visited the Laphroaig Distillery, Port Ellen, Laphroaig.
The Prince of Wales later visited Islay High School, Bowmore.
His Royal Highness subsequently visited Islay Woollen Mill Company, Bridgend.

The Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace opens between 10am and 5pm, last admission 4.30pm. The Royal Mews opens between 12pm and 4pm, last admission 3.30pm.
Changing of the Guard
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Irish Guards.
