WINDSOR CASTLE

16 June: The Queen, with The Duke of Edinburgh, honoured Ascot Races with her presence today.

By command of Her Majesty, the Viscount Long (Lord-in-Waiting) called upon The President of the Republic of Malawi this afternoon at the St James Court Hotel, London SW1, and on behalf of The Queen welcomed His Excellency on his arrival in this country.

KENSINGTON PALACE

15 June: The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester today attended a Luncheon and Garden Party at Hillsborough Castle, County Down.

Their Royal Highnesses were received by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (the Right Hon Sir Patrick Mayhew MP) and Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for County Down (Colonel William Brownlow).

Mrs Euan McCorquodale and Major Nicholas Barne were in attendance.

16 June: The Duchess of Gloucester this evening opened 'Arne Jacobsen: Architect and Designer' Exhibition at The Design Museum, Shad Thames, London SE1.

Mrs Michael Wigley was in attendance.

YORK HOUSE

15 June: The Duke of Kent, Vice- Chairman, the British Overseas Trade Board, accompanied by The Duchess of Kent, this evening arrived at RAF Northolt from Poland.

16 June: The Duchess of Kent, Patron, the European Association for Palliative Care, this afternoon left RAF Northolt for Norway.

Mrs Colin Marsh was in attendance.

THATCHED HOUSE LODGE

16 June: Princess Alexandra this morning opened the refurbished Orchard School at Bridge Road, East Molesey, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Surrey (Mr Richard Thornton).

The Lady Nicholas Gordon Lennox was in attendance.

Her Royal Highness this evening attended the opening of the 'Simplest Country Gentlefolk' Exhibition at the Museum of Richmond, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond, Surrey.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Prince of Wales, Patron, Chindits Old Comrades' Association, attends the 50th Anniversary celebrations at Whittington Barracks, Lichfield, Staffordshire. The Princess Royal, Patron, Adult Literacy and Basic Skills Unit, attends a Prison Conference at Glaziers' Hall, London SE1.

The Queen's Gallery opens between 10am and 5pm, and last admission is at 4.30pm.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion The King's Regiment mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Irish Guards.
