BUCKINGHAM PALACE

11 July: The Duke of Edinburgh, Chancellor, University of Cambridge, and President, the English-Speaking Union of the Commonwealth, this morning opened the Conference of Latin American Culturas Inglesas at Trinity College, Cambridge, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Cambridgeshire (Mr James Crowden).

Sir Brian McGrath was in attendance.

ST JAMES'S PALACE

7 July: The Prince of Wales this morning visited the Townsend Street Enterprise Centre, the East Belfast Mission and Bryson Community Enterprises Limited, Belfast.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Reception at the Royal School, Armagh.

The Prince of Wales afterwards visited the Craft Village Centre and the Maydown Ebrington Centre, Londonderry, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord- Lieutenant for County Londonderry (Colonel Michael McCorkell).

His Royal Highness later visited Broughshane Village, County Antrim.

Mr Stephen Lamport and Mr Allan Percival were in attendance.

11 July: The Prince of Wales this afternoon held a meeting to discuss architectural matters followed by a Luncheon.

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Dragoon Guards, later received Lieutenant-Colonel Jonathan Torrens-Spence upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant-Colonel Mark Faulkner upon assuming the appointment.

The Prince of Wales this evening gave a Reception in aid of the Soil Association.

KENSINGTON PALACE

11 July: Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, President, Ladies Guild of the St John Ophthalmic Hospital, this afternoon received the Countess Cathcart on relinquishing the appointment of Chairman.

YORK HOUSE

11 July: The Duchess of Kent, Deputy Colonel-in-Chief, the Royal Dragoon Guards, this morning received the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Johnny Torrens-Spence, on relinquishing the appointment and Lieutenant-Colonel Mark Faulkner on assuming the appointment of Matron-in-Chief of Queen Alexandra's Royal Naval Nursing Service and Miss CM Taylor on assuming this appointment.

Subsequently Her Royal Highness, President, received Mrs Sheila Dunbar upon retiring as Joint Chairman of the Children's Country Holiday Fund.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh give a garden party at Buckingham Palace. The Duke of Edinburgh, President, the City and Guilds of London Institute, presents the 1994 City and Guilds Prince Philip Medal and Silver and Bronze Medals at Buckingham Palace; and later attends a luncheon at Portland Place, London W1. The Princess Royal, Master, the Worshipful Company of Woolmen, visits the Livery Companies' Exhibition 1994, Guildhall, London EC2; and as Patron, British Executive Services Overseas, attends a reception for corporate sponsors at the Durbar Court, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, London SW1. Prince Michael of Kent, President, Royal Patriotic Fund Corporation, visits the Royal School, Hampstead, London NW3.

The Queen's Gallery

The Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace opens between 10am and 5pm, last admission 4.30pm. The Royal Mews opens between 12pm and 4pm, last admission 3.30pm.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Coldstream Guards.
