ST JAMES'S PALACE

5 January: The Prince of Wales today visited Norwich and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Norfolk (Mr Timothy Colman).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Environmental Research Centre, University of East Anglia, this morning visited the School of Environmental Sciences at the University.

The Prince of Wales later opened the Bertram Diabetes Eye Unit, West Norwich Hospital, Bowthorpe Road.

His Royal Highness this afternoon launched the Foyer Programme at the Norwich YMCA, 48 St Giles Street.

Commander Richard Aylard RN was in attendance.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Irish Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Scots Guards.

Windsor Castle

The Precincts at Windsor Castle open 10am-4pm, the State Apartments 10.30am-3pm.
