George Clooney has found himself probed about the divorce of his friends Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie once more.

The couple announced their divorce after two years of marriage and a ten-year relationship almost two weeks ago. The surprising announcement was met with intensified speculation and interest and famous friends of the couple, and of Pitt’s ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, were hounded on their thoughts on a divorce which they had no involvement in.

While attending a benefit dinner in Los Angeles on Saturday night, Clooney was asked for the second time on camera how his friend and frequent collaborator Pitt was doing in the wake of the break-up and revealed he still has not spoken to the actor.

“I don’t know,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I haven’t talked to him.”

Clooney was first asked his thoughts on the divorce as he made his way out of a roundtable with President Obama at the United Nations discussing the refugee crisis.

George Clooney 'very sorry' to hear of Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt divorce

Being as though he had been tied up with important matters, Clooney had not heard news of the divorce and so was told live on camera.

“I didn’t know that, wow. I feel very sorry for the. That’s a sad story and unfortunate for a family,” the 55-year-old said. “I feel very sorry to hear that. That’s the first I’ve heard of it.”

It was not just friends of Pitt and Jolie who were asked for their opinions on the divorce. In a sign that interest in the matter had perhaps gone too far, Piers Morgan questioned the spiritual leader the Dalai Lama about the split.
