Bill Cosby files lawsuit against woman, who claims he sexually assaulted her, aged 15

Bill Cosby has filed a lawsuit against Judy Huth, who claimed that she was sexually assaulted by the actor aged 15.

She alleges that the incident took place in the Playboy Mansion in 1974. Huth also claims that she only recently realised she had suffered psychological damage from the alleged assault – which makes the lawsuit exempt from the statute of limitations.

However, Cosby is now demanding $33,000 in compensation from the woman. His lawyer, Marty Singer, said in the filings that Huth’s claims "are absolutely false".

The documents state that Huth attempted to extort money from Cosby. Her lawyer, Marc S Strecker, first demanded $100,000, then raised the figure to $250,000 in order to keep her from filing a case.

"Through her lawyer, Plaintiff made extortionate claims to Mr. Cosby (through his counsel) about criminal penalties, coupled with ever-increasing demands for a six-figure payday to keep quiet about her long-since-expired claims," the documents state.

The filings also dispute Huth’s claim that she and Cosby were involved in a drinking game, in which they both drank three beers.

"It is a well-known, and easily verifiable, that Mr. Cosby is a life-long non-drinker," states Singer.

Huth’s alleged demands were rejected and her lawsuit was filed two days later.

The filing claims that Huth tried to sell her story 10 years ago, but with no success. Documents state that her assertion that the incident was newly-remembered was not accompanied by the required certification from a psychologist.

Although Huth is one of numerous women to accuse the actor of sexual assault over the past few months, she is the first underage woman to have made claims against him.

Cosby has denied previous claims made against him. He has defended himself, saying that "people need to fact check". His lawyer has described the allegations as "decades old" and "discredited".

This week the actor stepped down from the board of alma mater at Temple University amid the allegations.

In 2006, Andrea Constand claimed that Cosby had drugged and assaulted her in his Philadelphia mansion in 2004 - allegations firmly denied by his lawyers. Over 13 alleged victims were proposing to testify but the civil case with Constand settled in 2006. The terms of the settlement remain undisclosed.
