From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Even Beyonce has caught the Airbnb bug.

The singer chose to stay in a luxury San Franciso home over expensive hotels as she prepared for and celebrated over her unforgettable Super Bowl performance on Sunday.

Of course, this was no ordinary Airbnb. The five-bedroomed property features a gym, fully stocked bar, games room and a swimming pool. Beyonce thanked Airbnb for her ‘super’ stay in a Facebook post and shared enviable images of her, Jay-Z and Blue Ivy relaxing in the property.

The property is located in the Los Altos Hills and offers 270-degree views of the San Francisco Bay Area, complimented by an 11-acre estate where visitors can even help themselves to vegetables or lemons from the private orchard.

The listing under the name ‘Cheryl’ summarises the home as a “contemporary masterpiece”.

It goes on: “A contemporary statement like no other, this net-zero energy home, designed by Noel Cross Architects and built by Evans Construction, Inc. has a clear aesthetic vision for sustainability and design that works in harmony with the beauty of the surroundings. Tremendous walls of glass, some that entirely disappear provide seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces.”

All of this can be yours - for $30,000 (approx. £20,700) per night.
