Battle of Britain Thanksgiving Service

The Ministry of Defence has announced that the Battle of Britain Service of Thanksgiving and Rededication will be held in Westminster Abbey at 11am on Sunday 17 September 1995. Applications for tickets, accompanied by a stamped self- addressed envelope, should reach the Ministry of Defence, Pld (Cer) (RAF), Room 344, Adastral House, Theobalds Road, London WC1X 8RU, by not later than 11 August 1995. Applications received after this date may prove unsuccessful. If the demand for tickets proves excessive, it may be necessary to restrict issue to a maximum of two per applicant.

To assist with seating in the Abbey, applicants are requested to state which of the following categories is appropriate: ex Battle of Britain aircrew; relatives of aircrew who lost their lives in the Battle; past or present members of the Royal Air Force and its Reserve Forces; and members of the general public.

Tickets and a note on dress and timings for the occasion will be issued two to three weeks before the service.

Applications are not to be made to Westminster Abbey.
