From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Newly-weds Amal and George Clooney are reportedly planning a third marriage celebration in the UK.

The couple, who exchanged vows in Venice last month, are said to be attending a dinner party at the Danesfield House Hotel and Spa in Marlow-on-Thames, Buckinghamshire, on Saturday night.

According to an invitation obtained by E! News, Amal’s parents, Ramzi and Baria Alamauddin, are hosting the event. Guests were requested to respond by 10 October.

Danesfield House was awarded a Michelin Star in 2012 and has seen the likes of Nicole Kidman and Tom Hanks walk through its doors. It is also close to the Grade II mansion house that the couple have allegedly bought, which is located in the village of Sonning.

A spokesman told Metro that the hotel could not comment on the rumours but confirmed the venue was available for hire on “a case-by-case basis”.

Mrs Clooney has recently been advising the Greek government on how to repatriate the Elgin Marbles.
