From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Aaron Paul has revealed the extreme lengths some of his fans went to in an attempt to track him down, including turning up at his wedding uninvited.

Paul, best-known for playing endearing drug-dealer turned Crystal Meth sous-chef Jesse in Breaking Bad told James Corden’s Late Late Show there were three uninvited guests to his wedding, one of whom “violently” attempted to catch his new wife’s bouquet.

“This one girl almost caught Lauren’s bouquet. She dove for it, violently dove, you could tell on her face that she was going to get it. But she didn’t get it, she was close […] like who are these people?” he asked.

Paul married his wife Lauren, a director and co-founder of The Kind Campaign charity, in 2013 in a “1920s Parisian carnival-themed wedding”, meaning the gatecrashers “stood out like a sore thumb”.

However, he only noticed the unidentified individuals’ attendance when going through the wedding pictures after the ceremony, and to this day still isn’t sure who they are.

Perhaps Paul should have taken a leaf out of Ashton Kutcher’s book. The Two and a Half Men actor recently revealed the “ninja effort” that went in to keeping his wedding to Mila Kunis private, including posting different locations on social media to ward off helicopters.
