Your support makes all the difference.Piermario Morosini, who died of a suspected heart attack on 14 April at the age of 25, was a former Italian under-21 international footballer who collapsed while playing for Livorno against Pescara in an Italian Serie B game. Morosini collapsed during the 31st minute and received treatment on the pitch before being rushed to hospital. The match was abandoned and the players left the field in tears.
Morosini was born on 5 July 1986 in Bergamo. His mother died when he was 15, and his father two years later, followed shortly after by a disabled brother, leaving him alone with a handicapped elder sister. He began his career at his home-town club Atalanta, and was sold to Udinese in 2005.
Atalanta had loaned him to Bologna to gain experience, and he played at several more clubs on loan, including Reggina, Vicenza and, from January this year, Livorno. His made his debut for Italy's under-17 side in 2001, and in 2006 for the under-21s. He was an unused squad member for the 2009 European Championships.
