Your support makes all the difference.Cameron Buchanan, who died aged 80 on 10 September, became the youngest footballer to play for a League club when he appeared for Wolverhampton Wanderers in a wartime game against West Bromwich Albion in September 1942, aged 14 years and 57 days.
Born in Scotland on 31 July 1928, Buchanan played 17 more wartime games for Wolves, but although he stayed at Molineux until 1949, he made no more first-team appearances. He moved to Bournemouth, where he scored 18 goals in 83 games over five seasons. He had a brief spell with the Canadian side Montreal Ukrainia before returning to Britain with Norwich City. After retirement he returned to Scotland, where he worked as a linen service manager on Tayside.
