From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Pop group New Kids on the Block have announced the lineup for their 2019 'The Mixtape Tour'.

The American boy band, who rose to fame in the late Eighties and early Nineties, will be joined in 53 cities across North America by Salt-N-Pepa, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson and Naughty by Nature.

NKOTB announced the tour by releasing a surprise throwback track, "80s Baby", featuring their touring partners.

"We're creating a mixtape on tour every night and in every city," Donnie Wahlberg of NKOTB said. "It's going to be fun, happiness, emotions, tears, joy, love."

The tour will feature a setlist likely to include No.1 hits such as "Hangin' Tough", "I'll Be Loving You (Forever)", and "Step by Step", along with the other four acts' own back catalogues.

Tickets for the tour go on sale to the general public on Friday 12 October. The tour begins on 2 May 2019 in Cincinnati and concludes at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on 18 June.
