At the One Young World project, his saintly colleagues will include Bob Geldof, Kofi Annan, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus, and musician turned human rights activist Wyclef Jean. If some of that doesn’t rub off on Coulson (above) there’s no hope for him. The One Young World project for the next generation of global leaders is run from London by the advertising dynamo Kate Robertson of Euro RSCG and her boss David Jones, the Brit running the French global media group Havas. First priority for Coulson will be OYW’s next summit in Zurich in September.
The new news ecosystem
Good luck to the Global Editors Network. The ambitious collaboration launches online today with a manifesto to protect quality journalism while embracing the “new news ecosystem” and attempting to “break the barriers between editors of old and new media”. That’s no small task.
Taliban tweet is off message
Thanks to The Times’s Tom Whitwell for tweeting that the Taliban now has an official Twitter account. Despite some 574 tweets it has so far garnered only 28 followers.
