Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

TalkTalk is the UK's most complained-about broadband service provider, according to new figures from Ofcom.

Between January and March, it had 0.56 complaints per 1,000 customers, while Sky's broadband service attracted the fewest complaints at 0.15 per 1,000 customers.

TalkTalk was also at the bottom of the table in the landline market with Virgin Media at the top, attracting 0.72 and 0.16 complaints per 1,000 customers respectively. This is the sixth consecutive quarter in which TalkTalk and Virgin Media have finished bottom and top of the landline complaints league.

Dominic Baliszewski, a telecoms expert at Broadbandchoices.co.uk, said: "Ofcom's latest complaints data has shone a light on the ISPs who need to be working harder to keep their customers happy, but there is good news too. Sky has reduced complaints for every consecutive quarter without fail and Virgin Media consistently keeps complaints to a minimum.

"TalkTalk is making good headway, but is still struggling with historical issues following the buyout of older providers."

The Ofcom report also revealed Three as the most complained-about mobile provider.
