Inside Story: The real media hotlist
The nominations are in for the Hospital Club's top 100 people in London's creative industries. Now it's your chance to review the candidates and vote for a winner
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. Here it is, the long list of nominations for The Hospital Club 100. Democratically elected by people from across the creative industries, it is comprised of established industry figures, emerging talent and unsung heroes. In essence it's composed of people who have a direct impact, however lateral, within a specific industry.
The top 100 – the true stars of London's creative industries and the powers behind the throne – will be announced on Monday 7 July. A party for all winners will be held that evening at The Hospital Club in London's Covent Garden in association with The Independent Media Weekly.
The nominations on this long list have been voted for over the last three weeks at thehospitalclub.com. All voters were entitled to nominate up to five people each across the 13 creative industries; film, television, music, new media, journalism, publishing, performing arts, marketing PR & events, fashion, art, advertising, media law & recruitment and celebrity. Some categories on the long list are bigger than others, reflective of voting patterns.
If you feel someone on the long list deserves to be part of the finalists on The Hospital Club 100 list, you have one week to cast your vote at www.thehospitalclub.com ; where each voter is entitled to nominate up to two people per category and voting is from Monday 23 June until 6pm on Monday 30 June.
