Enke, famous for his role as a goalkeeper for football teams such as Barcelona, Benfica, Fenerbahçe and Hannover 96, committed suicide on November 10 after a long battle with depression.
Searches for his name have risen as European football fans search for more information about the circumstances in which he died as well as looking for news about upcoming friendly matches that have been canceled in respect.
The Fort Hood shootings continue to rank highly in Google's list of trending searches with Americans and Canadians showing the highest rates of search for the attack that took place at the military base on November 5.
The popular children's TV show Sesame Street celebrated its 40th anniversary on November 10. Google hosted different Sesame Street-inspired logos on its search home page in the leadup to the event, adding to the rise in searches for the longest-running children's educational TV series in history.
The search terms with the most significant growth worldwide in the last seven days as measured by Google Insights, recorded on November 12 at 9:30 AM GMT are:

4. modern warfare 2 (+200%)
5. dragon age ( +140%)
6. 2012 (+70%)
7. receita federal (+60%)
8. e okul (+60%) ("e school" in Turkish)
9. windows live messenger (+50%)
10. ratp (+40%)
*Breakout defines a search term that has experienced a change in growth greater than 5000 percent.
