Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

While some celebrities take the art of moving on to a higher level, there are others whose love lives are just as tangled as anyone's. And many of those tangles seem to be made of elastic.

Take Sven Goran Eriksson (someone's got to). Either the red tops have started recycling their front pages, or Sven and Nancy Dell'Olio are once again back together. Her people confirmed the reunion. His, however, did not.

It's been a tough Valentine's week for celebrity watchers who are romantic at heart. Just as one couple seem to get back together, another turn out to be an illusion. Surely they can't all be just good friends?

Sven and Nancy

Their rubber-ball relationship bounced back despite his affairs with Ulrika Jonsson and Faria Alam. This time, "he's got a lot to prove"

Kylie and Olivier

When Minogue and Martinez got together for springtime in Paris, the conclusion was obvious. Or not. "Nothing is going on," she said

Mick and Jerry

"I still love Mick Jagger," said Jerry Hall. But not like that. Instead, she thinks that "you're only meant to be with someone for a certain period of your life"

Paul and Heather

Back together inthe same room on Valentine's Day – except for Paul McCartney and Heather Mills, it was a divorce court room
