Your support makes all the difference. An eight-year-old boy saved his older sister during a car-jacking attempt outside of a hospital, according to police.
69-year-old Nita Coburn had left her grandchildren Chance and Skyler in her car while she was helping a women into the emergency room at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Ohio.
While Coburn was out of the vehicle, a man jumped into the car and attempted to drive off. Police explained that eight-year-old Chance opened the door for the two to escape but that the man grabbed onto Skyler's hoodie in an attempt to trap her.
Chance managed to wrestle her free and the two tumbled from the vehicle to safety.
Their grandmother Nita was injured when she grabbed on to the car after the children had fallen out and was dragged until she could hold on no longer.
Police are calling Chance a hero. "He pulled his sister out of the car with no concern for his own safety. That is incredible at his age," said Middletown police chief Rodney Muterspaw on the department's facebook page.
The driver was ultimately apprehended by police and identified as 24-year old Delvir Singh.
He has been charged with two counts of kidnapping, felonious assault and grand theft.
