Your support helps us to tell the story
In my reporting on women's reproductive rights, I've witnessed the critical role that independent journalism plays in protecting freedoms and informing the public.
Your support allows us to keep these vital issues in the spotlight. Without your help, we wouldn't be able to fight for truth and justice.
Every contribution ensures that we can continue to report on the stories that impact lives

“Be careful what you wish for,” read an early-morning tweet yesterday, in response to my request for your thoughts. Sifting through them won’t be a quick job but, along with the 20p price tag, that’s what sits us apart from other titles – we listen and react to readers’ comments.
One of the reasons that our mailbox is bulging larger than ever is in part down to some good news you may have missed during the past week. The latest newspaper ABCs, the official figures on daily newspaper sales, revealed yet another increase for i, up 0.5 per cent month-on-month, and 12 per cent year-on-year.
So everyone reading this should give themselves a pat on the back – without you we would not be in this position. It is hard to believe that two-and-a-half years ago, sales like this were a distant dream. Now it is the first edition which is a distant memory. While I am relatively new to this particular chair, I feel I know many of you already having taken every step with you, on Stefano’s shoulder, since 26 October 2010.
Those of you who have also been with us since issue no 1 will have seen how the paper has evolved – as much down to your suggestions as our ideas. The principle is still the same (I’m afraid you won’t be able to change that!) but some readers can hold their hands up and say: “I asked for that.” We have other ideas on the horizon, and those will be made apparent in good time.
It shouldn’t go without saying that other titles had a small lift to their sales figures this past month, including our sister paper The Independent. The irony that the death of Margaret Thatcher has given the industry a boost will not be lost on many. Who said she never did anything for newspapers!
