A hotelier who allegedly served beef on the bone yesterday went to court to prove that the regulations banning the product were "absurd".
James Sutherland, 44, (right) is the first person in Britain to be prosecuted under the rules. More than 100 farmers turned out in support when he arrived at Selkirk Sheriff Court in the Scottish Borders.
The hearing was adjourned to next month.
