Two survivors of a gunman's rampage atop the Empire State Building last year have sued the building owners and operators for $55m (pounds 34m).
Ali Hassan Abu Kamal, a Palestinian teacher, killed one person and injured six others on the building's 86th-floor observation deck on 23 February. After opening fire, Kamal shot himself to death. Matthew Gross of Montclair, New Jersey, asked for $50m in his lawsuit, filed on Tuesday. Mario Carmona, 53, an Argentine computer consultant who was shot in the neck, joined with a $5m claim. - AP, New York
