Victims of anti-gay attacks were being contacted after the men were found just after midnight lying in a park known as a meeting place for gay sex. The dead man, aged 40, had been stabbed in the groin and beaten. The injured man, between 40 and 50, was described as stable. Unconfirmed reports claimed both men suffered mutilation to their genitals.
