Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

NEWBURY

2.00: STAR SELECTION,a creditable 111/2-length eighth to the smart Blowing Wind in the Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle at Sandown, takes a drop in class. Potentate is a danger.

2.30: CAROLE'S CRUSADER, a head second to Eulogy in a 3m110yds handicap chase at Sandown last time, is preferred to Macgeorge, who finished alone over course and distance last time.

3.30: SALLY SCALLY, 11/2 lengths second to Final Hand in a 2m3f110yds novice hurdle at Taunton last time, figures on a lenient handicap mark. Quistaquay and Kinnahalla are dangers.

DONCASTER

2.35: SCORNED, winner of a 7f maiden here last November, looks a fair prospect. Libra Star may pose most problems.

3.10: NOMORE MR NICEGUY,

a neck second to the useful Fayik in a competitive 1m110yds handicap on Fibresand at Wolverhampton, is fit, well handicapped and will find a high draw no problem if the ground does not turn soft. Lionize, working well, also makes appeal.

3.40: MONAASSIB, 3 lengths second to Elnadim in the Group Two Diadem Stakes over 6f at Ascot last September, should outclass these. Carranita may follow him home.

4.45: POSEIDON, who ran some fair races in Group company last season, should give a fair account of himself. The Fly is a danger.
