Education: Your guide to course vacancies
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.THE official listings from the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (Ucas), which organises the 'clearing' process, published exclusively in the Independent and the Independent on Sunday, will help students who change their plans after this week's release of A-level results.
For the next five weeks we will be publishing details of empty places on courses. There will also be a series of features offering advice to students on subjects ranging from how to sell themselves on the phone or at an interview to new and unusual courses that they may not have considered. The next feature will appear this Sunday. The first listings will be published next Wednesday, 24 August. There will then be features and listings on Friday 26 August and on subsequent Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays until 22 September.
Don't miss a chance to enter Double Your Grant, our special competition for full-time students, which will be run in conjunction with our exclusive vacancies service. Full details will appear next Wednesday, 24 August.
