MORE of the City's top fund managers read the Independent than any other comparable national newspaper, Mori has found.
The Mori survey finds that 39 per cent of the City's 159 top investors, managing a total of pounds 500bn of funds, read the Independent. This compares with 31 per cent reading the Times, 30 per cent reading the Daily Telegraph, and 3 per cent reading the Guardian.
The further rise in rating from 30 per cent in 1991 and 34 per cent in 1992 means that the newspaper now has a commanding lead over all its general rivals in this key category of the most influential City people.
If City analysts are also included, the Independent is read by 39 per cent of City readers against 40 per cent for the Times and 38 per cent for the Daily Telegraph.
