TT Group jumps 49 per cent

John Newman annound he is stepping up to the executive chairman's role at TT Group after unveiling a 49 per cent jump in pre-tax profits to £35.6 million for the year to December.Mr Newman said yesterday his promotion from joint chief executive would allow him to devote more time to strategy. He added that TT was "as much a seller as a buyer" of Meggitt, the aerospace and electronics group in which the company has built a 4 per cent stake.
