Ridge Mining 52p (up 9p, 20.9 per cent). Brokers clear a large seller from the market.

Lincat Group 537.5p (up 70p, 14.9 per cent). First-half pre-tax profits rise to pounds 2.6m from pounds 2.1m.

Morgan Sindall 624p (up 7p, 1.2 per cent). Secures a construction contract with the NHS worth pounds 75m over 5 years.

Sci Entertainment 311.5p (up 17p, 5.7 per cent). The computer games developer assures investors that trading remains inline with expectations.

CybIT 78.5p (up 5p, 6.9 per cent). Wins fleet management software deal worth pounds 400,000.

Shire Pharmaceuticals 577.5p (down 64.5p, 10.1 per cent). Canada suspends the group's Adderall hyperactivity treatment on safety grounds.

Rolls-Royce 264.5p (down 7p, 2.6 per cent). Fails to raise its payout to shareholders after solid full-year results.

Wolseley 1,112.5p (down 15.5p, 1.4 per cent). Acquires four businesses in Europe and North America for pounds 33m.

William Ransom 50p (down 4.5p, 8.3 per cent). The collapse into administration of the group's UK distributor will have an adverse effect on the company.

Britannic 481.25p (down 13.75p, 2.8 per cent). Recent downgrade by Citigroup continues to weigh on the stock.

Smallbone 51p (down 2.5p, 4.6 per cent). Warns that one-off charge will hit its profits.
