MIRROR Group Newspapers is to move out of its headquarters at Holborn Circus after Grant Thornton, the receivers of Robert Maxwell Estates, which owns the building, rejected MGN's bid to buy it.
It is understood MGN offered less than pounds 30m for the 1960s building, which was valued two years ago at more than pounds 70m. MGN has said it will leave the offices. Grant Thornton, which is already suing MGN for unpaid rent, said it would take MGN to court if it did so.
MGN is considering three alternative sites - Canary Wharf, Thomas More Square in Wapping and the Ark in Hammersmith. A decision is likely to be made next week.
