Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.THERE are just a few days left in which to enter the Independent- NatWest Management Challenge. Those wishing to take part should register by Friday 28 April, writes Roger Trapp.
The challenge is the second annual test of management skill to be run in association with the Independent and Independent on Sunday and sponsored by National Westminster Bank. The winner receives £10,000 and has the opportunity to take part in a European final. The runners-up collect £5,000 between them.
The challenge is based on a computer simulation developed by Bill Robertson, of Edit 515, and involves teams of up to six working together to develop an imaginary, medium-sized consumer goods company selling into mainland Europe and the United States over 15 months.
Teams have to use their skill, judgement and experience to make decisions on strategy, product development, marketing and personnel. These are fed into the computer, and the companies with the best performance at each stage are rewarded with rises in their share prices.
Anybody wanting to take part should contact Richard Doggart at Quintus Group, the organisers, on 0171-351 7499.
