Year to 31 March

Clayhithe, the investment and property company, reduced pre-tax losses from pounds 963,000 to pounds 366,000 on pounds 35.9m ( pounds 20m) turnover. The loss per share was cut to 4.4p (5.2p). Total dividend is held at 2.5p.

J&J Dyson, refractories maker, eased to pounds 1.05m ( pounds 1.1m) pre-tax profit. Earnings per share 5.76p (6.54p). Total dividend is 0.3p.

Mitie Group, mechanical engineer, achieved pounds 2.4m ( pounds 1.8m) pre-tax profits. Earnings per share rose to 13.3p (11.6p). Total dividend is 3.5p (2.75p).

Others

Corporate Services made pounds 32,000 profit (loss pounds 466,000) in the half-year to 30 June. Earnings 0.11p (loss 1.57p).

David S Smith, the waste recycler, reported a surge in taxable profits to pounds 27m for the year to 1 May. Earnings 22p (11.5p). Total dividend 10p (9.5p).

Grosvenor Inns pre-tax profits pounds 764,000 ( pounds 319,000) in year to 31 May. Earnings 7.4p (2.8p). Total div 4.25p.

Sidney C Banks, the grain merchant, rose to pounds 2.9m ( pounds 2.3m) pre-tax profit in year to 30 April. Earnings 22.5p (19.9p). Total dividend 9p (8.25p).
