Your support makes all the difference.Carclo Engineering, maker of wire, cables, strips and plastic products, advanced to pounds 12.9m ( pounds 8.6m) pre-tax profit for the year to 31 March. Group turnover of pounds 152.5m ( pounds 84.4m) included pounds 67.3m worth of acquisitions, which produced an additional pounds 5.2m trading profits. Earnings per share improved to 15.7p (14.6p). Final dividend is 7.2p, making 9.1p (8.6p).
Dwyer Estates, the commercial property firm, turned around from pounds 729,000 taxable loss to pounds 378,000 pre-tax profit for the six months to 31 March. Turnover slipped to pounds 2.4m ( pounds 2.8m). Earnings per share recovered to 0.99p (lps 2.69p). There was no dividend but the company expects to declare a full dividend at the year-end.
Fyffes, the fruit and vegetables wholesaler, edged pre-tax profits ahead from Ir pounds 14.1m to Ir pounds 14.2m in the six months to 30 April. The company said: 'Pre-tax profit growth may be somewhat constrained in 1994 by the reduction in financial income. Fyffes plans to continue its active acquisition and investment policies in view of the low returns from financial assets.' Turnover grew from Ir pounds 267.4m to Ir pounds 368.5m. Earnings per share slipped to Ir2.68p (Ir2.75p). Interim dividend is Ir0.43p (Ir0.39p).
