KLEINWORT Benson has recommended buying shares in BET, the services group, noting among other things that its disposal programme is well advanced. Last week, according to Construction Weekly magazine, the firm continued the trend, quietly offloading Lorne Stewart, an electrical and mechanical engineering services company to a Bermudan investment company. According to the magazine, the sale of the company - which has a turnover in excess of pounds 100m a year - was too small to justify a Stock Exchange announcement.
Meanwhile, Kleinwort says that although trading in BET's remaining businesses remains tough, a 28 per cent rise in interim profits is expected, and it is rated an attractive recovery stock.
