When businesses can’t effectively use data, they can end up making decisions based more on gut feeling than solid evidence. This can lead to missed opportunities to boost efficiency, manage risks and drive innovation.

In fact, even though a recent report shows that 76 per cent of data and analytics professionals worldwide say data-driven decision making is a leading goal for their data program, a majority don’t completely trust the data they have.

Without the right tools to analyse and understand data, companies may not just fall behind, but miss opportunities to get ahead.

Data integrity – data that’s accurate, consistent and contextual – brings confidence to AI use-cases and critical customer data environments. To demonstrate this, we’ve highlighted two organisations from different industries that have built trust in their data and created greater value to achieve their strategic goals. Each company recently received a Data Integrity Award from Precisely, which recognises customers for their outstanding achievements and innovative approaches to data integrity.

Without data context, there is no AI

Generali Real Estate, one of the world’s leading real estate asset managers, has made significant strides with CityForward, a division established to disrupt the traditional investment decision-making processes by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to enhance investment strategies.

The company found that standard real estate metrics often don’t reveal the reason for significant variances in the value of assets, even when similar assets are only within a few streets of each other. They discovered that as much as a 60 per cent change in value, observed over seven years, couldn’t be explained using classic real estate metrics such as prime rent or capital value.

“We wanted to use alternative forms of data, especially spatial data, to address these problems,” says Costanza Balboni Cestelli, Head of Data Intelligence & Innovation for Generali Real Estate. “Ultimately, without data context, there is no such thing as AI in the field of location intelligence.”

CityForward uses enrichment data from Precisely to provide deep, actionable insights into business locations, popular spots, and other geographic features. By employing cutting-edge geo-addressing solutions, CityForward ensures users receive the most accurate location and address information available.

CityForward’s innovative approach has quickly established it as a leading European location intelligence platform, providing exceptional data granularity and detail for its users. With 30 machine-learning models achieving an impressive 95 per cent accuracy and satellite modules reaching 80 per cent accuracy, CityForward’s data has become indispensable in the real estate sector.

Its impact extends beyond real estate professionals, with over 400 users, including retail and public sector clients, relying on its insights. This broad adoption highlights CityForward’s significant role in transforming location intelligence and driving more informed, data-driven decisions across various industries.

Streamlining data processes to improve customer experience

While Generali Real Estate enriched its data to create greater context, Chamberlain Group streamlined its workflow – resulting in greater accuracy and automation to better serve its customers.

Chamberlin Group is a global leader in intelligent access. With consumer brands such as myQ, LiftMaster and Chamberlain used in residential and commercial buildings across the globe, the company wanted to simplify its SAP workflows, dramatically streamlining the way its customer returns were processed.

Its manual processes were labour-intensive, taking around 10 minutes per request, an inefficiency that threatened to hinder growth. To address these challenges, Chamberlin Group selected an automation platform from Precisely designed for creating custom web-based workflows and scripting solutions that are accessible to developers of all skill levels.

As a result, Chamberlin Group transformed its operational efficiency. The new scripts allowed seamless integration with the team’s existing SAP system, using real-time queries for data validation and real-time updates with complex conditioning logic – resulting in a staggering 87 per cent time-savings. What used to take 10 minutes per request now only takes about one minute and 25 seconds. This automation has freed up nearly 1,500 hours annually and empowered the team to focus on other critical stages of their processes, generating further cost savings.

The impact of this transformation was profound, particularly in customer satisfaction and data quality. Jeremy Maxfield, Lead Business Systems Analyst, noted, “Chamberlin Group’s customer care centre began receiving appreciative calls from clients, who were thrilled with the faster processing.”

Chamberlin Group’s success demonstrates the potential for substantial efficiency gains and highlights the importance of leveraging data integrity to improve customer experiences without the need for increased staffing.

Better data integrity, done the right way

Every organisation faces a unique set of circumstances when it comes to their data. The ability to harness it effectively is quickly becoming a key differentiator and value generator for businesses and organisations. Whether through sophisticated AI and ML platforms or streamlined data management systems for SAP workflows, improving data integrity can remove the uncertainty around data, and instead transform it into a strategic asset that creates value as organisations navigate their way through rapidly evolving landscapes.
