Economic statistics include provisional money supply statistics. M0, the narrow measure, is expected to show a 6 per cent year-on-year rise. Company results include full-year figures from Brooke Tool Engineering, ML Laboratories and the car parts and accessories retailer Motor World Group. Motor World is expected to show a rise in profits from pounds 2.3m to around pounds 3.65m. There are interims from Bimec Industries and Haynes Publishing Group. There will be an egm at Berisford International, which recently announced its acquisition of the Magnet kitchen group. French December unemployment figures are expected to show an increase from 12 to 12.1 per cent.
Tuesday
Third-quarter figures are expected from the airport operator, British Airports Authority. Analysts are expecting profits of between pounds 312m to pounds 325m for the full year and say the latest figures should show improving sales and the impact of rising productivity and cost-cutting. There are finals from Colefax & Fowler and an egm at Flextech to approve its merger with TCI's European programming interests. Free-sheet newspaper publisher Adscene reports interim figures. Analysts expect a small improvement in profits to just over pounds 1m.
Wednesday
Interim results expected from Bucknall Group and Huntingdon International. There will be news of Official Reserves figures for January and overseas travel and tourism revenues for November.
Thursday
News International, Rupert Murdoch's publishing group, reports its interim results.
Friday
Final money supply figures for December.
